Adding Pitch Counts / Scores
How to Add Pitch Counts / Game Details / Scores for MBL League Games
After completion of an MBL league game, a coach/asst coach/manager from each team must enter the score and other data about the game - including pitch counts. Generally, teams input pitch counts for their own team, with opposing coaches checking each others' work for typos or other mistakes.
Team reps must be logged into their MBL account in order to access their team page.
From your team page, which shows your schedule, click on the GAME ID NUMBER on the left side. If you are on a mobile device, you can also click the row that the game appears in.
Next, scroll down and click REPORT SCORE/PITCH COUNT. Answer all the game data questions related to your game. (If your game was suspended due to weather, select NO for the question: Is Game Complete? This will change your game status to Suspended)
Next, manually add the pitch counts for any players who pitched. If you make a mistake by adding pitch count to the wrong player, be sure to delete that number from that player's entry field. You cannot use the number zero; you must delete the character completely. Click SAVE when you have entered all pitch counts for your team.
Next, enter the score of the game. If your opponent has already entered the score, you simply need to verify that the score is correct. If it is not, contact your opponent. Contact the MBL if you need a score or pitch count changed.
Daily Pitch Count Limits, by age:
9-11U = 50
12U = 50
13U = 65
14U = 75
14/15A = 75
15U = 75
* If a pitcher reaches the daily maximum pitch count during an at-bat, they may finish pitching to that batter. The pitcher must be removed as pitcher upon completion of the at-bat. Any additional pitches beyond the per-game maximum should be recorded on the MBL web site and count towards any rest day requirements.
All MBL league games have rest day requirements based on pitches thrown.
- Days of rest are measured in calendar days; not 24-hours.
- If a DAILY LIMIT is reached during an at-bat, the pitcher may pitch until the at-bat is completed.
Example: If a 12U pitcher starts a batter at 49 pitches, he/she may throw as many pitches as needed to complete the at-bat. If the at-bat lasts 7 pitches (56 total for the game), the pitcher is required to rest 3 days before pitching again.
- The Rest Day Regulations/Table reflects actual pitches thrown. Pitchers are not allowed extra pitches to complete an at-bat and stay in a certain pitch count window. Intentional walks do not count towards the pitch count total.
Example: If an 11U pitcher starts a batter at 19 pitches and throws 3 more pitches while retiring the batter, the pitcher’s count is now at 22, and the pitcher must rest 1 day before pitching again.
