2022 Rule Changes:
All 9 - 14 year olds and 14/15A Divisions will play a 14 game regular season schedule.
9 - 12 year old game time limits 2 hours.
13 - 15 year old game time limit 2 hours 15 minutes.
EXCEPTION: Lighted fields may have their own time limits which could be different from the time limits above.
Bats - The following pertains to the legality of bats in the MBL
9-11 year olds - Bats must be 2 ¼”, 2 ½”, 2 5/8”, or 2 ¾” barrel diameter with
unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.
12-13 year olds- Bats must be 2 ¼” barrel diameter with
unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.
12-13 year olds - Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾”
With minus 10 or less weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.
14 year olds – Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾”
With minus 5 weight differential with and the USA or USSSA stamp.
14 year olds- Maximum Diameter: 2 5/8” with a minus 3 weight differential and the
BBCOR stamp.
15 year olds – Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or less
With minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.
14/15A year olds – May use either the 14 or 15 year old bat regulations.
Any age can use BBCOR stamped bats
9 – 15 year olds - WOOD BATS ARE ALLOWED

2021 Rule Changes:
Catcher Chest Protectors: The new NOCSAE standard for chest protectors in catcher’s gear is required for 14AAA, 14AA, 15AAA, 15AA & 14/15A leagues.
At he November 6th Rules committee meeting and the February 18th Travel Director Meeting the following rules were adopted for the 2020 Season:
2020 Rule Changes:
1. Pitch counts for all ages:
9 - 11 year olds maximum of 50 pitches per game and a maximum of 75 pitches per week.
12 year olds maximum of 60 pitches per game and a maximum of 85 pitches per week.
13 year olds maximum of 65 pitches per game and a maximum of 90 pitches per week.
14 - 15 year olds maximum of 75 pitches per game and a maximum of 105 pitches per week;
2. Time limits on MBL Regular season games on FIELDS WITHOUT LIGHTS:
9 - 12 year old games 2 hours 15 minutes
13 - 15 year old games 2 hours 30 minutes
EXCEPTION: Lighted fields may have their own time limits which could be different from the time limits above.
No time limits for MBL Playoff games unless you are playing on a lighted field and that field has a time limit.
3. Club Ball and double rostering is now the responsibility of each individual association.
4. 9 year olds can NOT advance to home from 3rd base on a passed ball or over throw back to the pitcher. They can only advance home on a batted ball or walk.
At the October 30, 2018 MBL Rules Committee Meeting, the following rules were adopted for the 2019 Season:
2019 Rule Changes:
1. 15 year olds will play a 12 game regular season schedule.
2. There shall be a maximum of 4 adults in the dugout for games
At the January 16, 2017 MBL Board Meeting, the following bat rule was adopted for the 2018 Season:
2018 Rule Changes:
- A. Bats - The following pertains to the legality of bats in the MBL
9-13 year olds - Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 1/4" or less
with minus 11 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
9-13 year olds - Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8" or less
with minus 11 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
9-18 year olds - Wood bats are allowed
14 year olds - Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8" or less
with minus 5 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
15-18 year olds - Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8" or less
with a minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.

14 AAA, AA and 14/15 A Divisions: Continuous batting and free substitution will be used in All Metro Baseball 14 year old games. This rule applies to the 14 AAA, AA, and 14/15A leagues.
